“Detained Dreams” panel probes the development of “crimmigration” law and policy

The Public Humanities Working Group organized a special panel conversation on April 18 about immigrant detention and the history and present realities of “crimmigration,” i.e., the intersections of criminal and immigration law in the United States. The panel featured Brianna Nofil (Assistant Professor of History, College of William & Mary), Elliott Young (Professor of History, Lewis & Clark College), and Harold Solis (Legal Director, Make the Road New York) in conversation with Alicia Schmidt Camacho (Professor of Ethnicity, Race, and Migration, Yale University).
