Maryam Ivette Parhizkar, Ph.D. candidate in American Studies and African American Studies, co-edited “Public Humanities and the Arts of the Present,” a cluster of articles for ASAP/J, the online platform of the Association for the Study of Arts of the Present.

Parhizkar also recently completed a curatorial fellowship at The Poetry Project at St. Mark’s Church in New York, representing (alongside Óscar Moisés Díaz) the U.S. Central American collective Tierra Narrative. They curated three bilingual virtual events that brought together Central American poets and artists from the isthmus and the U.S. diaspora. These events are now part of The Poetry Project’s digital archive––you can read more here and access the event videos here.
